Franz FEUCHTL – ARTIST
Biography:
Franz FEUCHTL (born January 30th 1914 in Vienna died January 27th 2007 in Tulln/Lower Austria) began painting at the age of 78. In the years leading up to his death he created more than 700 paintings, mainly gouaches on paper.
The work of Franz FEUCHTL has a poetic and erotic quality. His colorful paintings are little wonders in wich he shows his private visions. Franz FEUCHTL did not paint the scientific reality, but rather maped the interiors of the mind. “When I am painting, I am in love with my work”, he said.
A selection of his paintings is exhibited at “Das Alte HAUS FEUCHTL” in Purkersdorf/Vienna, where the artist has been living until his death.
